How to Transfer Contacts from iPhone to iPhone
There are a few different ways you can go about transferring contacts between iPhones. But there are two main ways that we’d recommend doing this. The first method I’ll be showing you uses iCloud to transfer contacts wirelessly. And the second one is to use iTunes on your computer to transfer your contacts. Transfer Contacs Wirelessly from iPhone to iPhone with iCloud
These methods are both fairly easy and take about the same amount of time. Let’s get into the instructions for the iCloud method.
To begin you’ll need to backup your old iPhone to iCloud. Open the settings on your old iPhone. Then tap your name at the top of the screen. Now tap iCloud.
Scroll down and select iCloud backup. If you don’t already have iCloud backup enabled tap the switch at the top to enable the feature.
Then tap it back up now. Wait a few minutes for your data to finish saving to your iCloud storage space. Once the backup is complete start up your new iPhone. Go through the process of setting it up as you normally would.
When you’re presented with the option to log into your iCloud account, enter the same email address and password for the account you have signed in on your old iPhone. When you’re done setting up your device open your iCloud settings.
Scroll down until you see contacts in the list. Make sure the slider beside it is green, to signal that contacts are being synced. Now go back to your home screen, and tap the contacts icon to see your contacts list.
Transfer Contacs from iPhone to iPhone with iTunes
Now let’s get into the second method using iTunes. To start you’ll need to back up your iPhone to iTunes. I’m doing this on a Mac, but you can do this on PC as well. The iTunes software works the same on both.
Plug your old iphone into your computer. iTunes may automatically open but if it doesn’t click iTunes to start it up. At the top of the iTunes window click the iPhone buttom. Then click backup now. When the backup is complete you can eject your iPhone from your computer.
Now plug in your new iPhone, open the details for your new iPhone then click restore backup. This will allow you to import the data from the backup you adjusted of your old iPhone on to your new iPhone.
It might take a while for the backup to load onto your new iPhone. Once the process is complete your device will reboot automatically. After it’s rebooted you’ll be able to open the contacts app on your new iPhone and see all your contacts from your old iPhone on your new one.
