There are four different methods to hiding Android apps that I’ll be showing in this article. If you’d like to see instructions for a specific method skip ahead to the sub listed beside the method you’re interested in.

Disable Apps is Settings

Let’s begin with the first method, disabling apps within your Android settings. To start access your Android settings, then scroll down and select the apps category. You’ll get to a list with all your apps

Hide Apps on Android With Nova Launcher App

Now I’ll show you the second method which is to use the Nova Launcher app, to manage the apps on your home screen. To start this method open the Google Play Store on your device, then download and install Nova Launcher.

Once you’ve installed it open your settings, then go to nova settings. Next tap app and widget drawers. Under the drawer groups category, tap hide apps. Tap the box beside each of the apps you would like to hide from your home screen.

Third method is to simply use homescreen folders to disguise apps. For this method the first step is to find two or more apps that you’d like to add to a folder. Then drag one of the app icons on top of another one to make them into a folder.

If there are more apps you want to include, drag them over to the folder to add them. Only the apps on the first page of a folder will be visible on your home screen. Tap and hold an app icon and drag it to move it wherever you’d like.

The last method we recommend using to hide your apps from being seen by others, is to lock your device with the password. To set this up open your device’s Settings. Then scroll down and tap security.

Next select Screen Security. Now you can choose the type of passcode lock you’d like to use. you can choose from a pattern, pin, or password. Typing the code you want to use then save the changes you’ve made to your settings.

Once you’ve hidden apps on your Android, you might be wondering how you can find them later. To easily find a hidden app swipe your finger downwards from the top of your screen. Tap the search bar and type in the name of the app you want to find. Tap an app in the search results to launch it.
